We needed a way to create more functional images, like payment moments, for channels that receive no budget, like packaging and in-store retail. We often have to hunt for images that fit these placements and often what we find feels outdated and off brand. We used to spend a lot of time retouching images that weren't quite right to make them work for these channels. But after a lot of discussion and exploration, we decided it felt ethical and efficient to leverage AI for stills like these that aren't about specific sellers or showing faces. I used ChatGPT to help shape prompts specifically for Runway, which I then used to generate stills. I would also switch to Nano Banana to make even more specific tweaks when Runway would get stuck. These images aren't perfect but once we retouch the devices to be 100% accurate, and tweak a few details to be less distracting, they'd be ready to print.
